Ahmed El Fishawy (born November 11, 1980)
is an Egyptian actor and rap singer associated with the Gito Faroz group.
Early Career:
Ahmed El Fishawy comes from an artistic family; he is the son of the actress Somya El Alfy and the late actor Farouk El Fishawy. He made his first appearance as a child in a television production called "Kibrith San'ah" in 1985 at the age of five. He later appeared alongside his father in the film "Al Morshed" in 1989 when he was nine. In 1998, he participated in the film "Al Batal" with the actor Ahmed Zaki. However, his acting career truly began in 2000 with the TV series "Weg' El Qamar" alongside actress Faten Hamama. In 2001, he took part in the series "Hadith Al Sabah Wal Massa," based on the story by the writer Naguib Mahfouz. In 2002, he appeared in the film "Shabab Ala El Hawa." Subsequently, his artistic works continued, marking his leading role debut in 2004 with the TV series "Afarit El Sayala" and later the film "Al Hasa Al Sabaa," which was his first major cinematic leading role.
In 2002, he co-hosted the program "Yalla Shabab" alongside Ahmed El Shokairy. The show was a social and Islamic program targeting young people in the Arab world, encouraging them to be productive and active in their society. El Fishawy and El Shokairy provided advice and guidance, addressed important problems relevant to youth, and highlighted negative habits to eliminate them. The program featured guests such as preachers and scholars to promote a correct understanding of religion. El Fishawy described the experience, saying, "I hosted the program on one of the variety channels, and it is not a strictly religious program. We discuss with the guests religious and social matters and benefit from them. I am not a preacher or a sheikh." He continued, "Once, Hani Khogali, the program's idea owner, decided to gift the program to one of the religious channels, and people from that point on started announcing their opinions about me, saying that I changed and became a preacher." He added, "I am not a preacher; I am like all the youth who go through different stages in life. I may change my opinions, explore new aspects of my religion and the surrounding society, and to this day, I am still learning."
