Madagascar

It is a computer-animated film produced by DreamWorks Animation. The film was released on May 27, 2005, with its DVD version published on November 15, 2005. The main characters of the film are four animals: Alex the lion (voiced by Ben Stiller), Marty the zebra (voiced by Chris Rock), Melman the giraffe (voiced by David Schwimmer), and Gloria the hippopotamus (voiced by Jada Pinkett Smith).

Story:

The film revolves around four friends living a comfortable life in the zoo: Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippopotamus. Marty, curious about experiencing life in the wild, decides to escape. However, they are accidentally shipped out in crates that end up in the ocean. They land on the island of Madagascar, where lemurs are constantly threatened by predatory fossa animals.

Alex, the lion, discovers his predatory nature, which shocks him in contrast to his other friends. Despite this, he manages to overcome his predatory instincts and saves his three friends and the lemurs from the threatening predators.

Meanwhile, penguins take control of the ship that transported them, arriving on Madagascar after finding the South Pole inhospitable. The penguins also reach the warm and sunny island. The four friends decide to return to New York, only to find a surprise at the end of the film when they board the ship and discover it is out of fuel.

The film achieved significant success and became one of the most successful films in the early summer of 2005. It grossed around $293.6 million during its theatrical run, and its popularity stemmed from being considered a family film appealing to both children and adults.

A family film or children's film

is a literary genre of films that focuses on issues related to children or family life in general. Children's films are typically produced specifically for the child audience, not necessarily for all segments of society. Family films, on the other hand, are produced for all age groups without exception. Family films come in various types and forms, including realistic films, fantasy, animation, war films, musicals, and literary adaptations.
