About his life:
He was born in Mansoura and graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Egypt in 1989. His entry into acting was coincidental. After completing high school at the Higher Institute for Cooperative Agricultural Education, he joined theater groups that performed theatrical works. A committee of senior artists was impressed by his performance, leading him to decide to enroll in the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. He later starred in the films "Al-Mowaten Masri" directed by Salah Abu Seif and "Al-Muhajir" directed by Youssef Chahine. He hosted the program "Dunya" on Abu Dhabi TV for one and a half years, five days a week.
He received the Best Actor award from the Johannesburg Film Festival for the film "Al-Muhajir" (1994). He also participated in the American film "Kingdom of Heaven" directed by Ridley Scott, playing a role as one of the leaders of Salah al-Din's army. He starred in the film "The Citizen" in 2012, among his other cinematic and television works.
