Filming took place in four different countries: Egypt, Italy, Bulgaria and Malaysia. The production company described it as the largest production in Egyptian cinema. Four international action designers were recruited to execute the dangerous scenes. The film was filmed in Malaysia, at the end of an intense filming period that lasted 10 days, and brought together the film’s stars Ahmed Ezz, Ahmed Fahmy, and Mohamed Mamdouh in a guest role. The production team then returned to Cairo, where director Ahmed Alaa El-Deeb began the editing and mixing process. The film was originally titled "Younes", then its name was changed to "Al-Arif".
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film's release has been postponed to July 14, 2021. Despite the challenges posed by the global health crisis, the film promises to deliver an unparalleled cinematic experience, blending action, suspense and a global backdrop.
