*Tiger Zinda Hai* is an Indian action-thriller film released in 2017, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It is the second installment in the Tiger film series, following *Ek Tha Tiger* released in 2012. Story:
In Iraq, an organization called ISC (Islamic State Consortium) kills an American journalist before he can report on their terrorist activities to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). In Tikrit, during an operation against them, their leader, Abu Usman, is shot by the Iraqi army and taken to a local hospital serving as a training center for Indian and Pakistani nurses. ISC seizes control of the hospital, taking the nurses as hostages. This prompts the American CIA to prepare for an airstrike on the hospital. Meanwhile, an Indian nurse named Maria contacts the Indian ambassador in Iraq, informing him about the Indian and Pakistani nurses being held captive. The Indian intelligence agency, RAW, notifies its chief Shenoy, who informs Tiger, a retired spy.
Tiger, now leading a quiet life with his wife Zoya and their child, reluctantly agrees to embark on a mission to rescue the nurses after Zoya's insistence. Tiger travels to Syria with his team, including Zoya, Azan (a professional sniper), Namit (an explosives expert), and Rakesh (a computer engineer). Posing as illegal immigrants working at an oil refinery supporting India, they meet a supporter named Tahir, who helps them. Tiger also encounters Poorna, his former colleague, in Tikrit, where they rescue Hassan, a young suicide bomber sent by Abu Usman.
During the chaos, Poorna is shot by ISIS, and Tiger narrowly escapes. Zoya unexpectedly arrives, and the couple decides to work together to save the nurses. Tiger's team executes a planned explosion at the refinery, feigning injuries to be transferred to the hospital. Tiger gets crucial information from Tahir, revealing him to be Firdaus, an undercover Indian agent spying on Tiger's team. Tiger and Zoya decide to launch simultaneous attacks.
Tiger's team successfully eliminates most ISC members, but Azan loses his life in the conflict. Tiger and Zoya find themselves captured by Abu Usman. Subjected to torture initially, Tiger later stabs Abu Usman, attempting to save Zoya. Simultaneously, the Indian and Pakistani intelligence agencies coordinate the rescue mission for the nurses. Firdaus kills Abu Usman, and the hospital is bombed by American airstrikes. A year later, on August 15, Tiger contacts Shenoy from Greece. Having adopted Hassan, Tiger informs Shenoy that his family is back in hiding, realizing that the Indian and Pakistani intelligence agencies won't leave them in peace. He assures Shenoy that he will always be ready to serve his country if needed.
